Get yourself ready for an interesting joint production that is set to premiere in Japan soon. Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac (誰かが私にキスをした / Dareka ga Watashi ni Kiss wo Shita) is a US-Japan co-produced movie based on an original teen novel by writer Gabrielle Zevin.
This film will be spearheaded by Jdorama darling, Maki Horikita (more recently of Atashinchi no Danshi, but more known for her roles in Hana Kimi and Nobuta wo Produce) stars as Naomi, a student at an international high school who loses a large portion of her memory in an accident. She eventually regains her past memories, but various incidents leave her confused as to which life is more authentic—her previous life or the changes she made as an amnesiac. Her fellow cast members include Kenichi Matsuyama, Yuya Tegoshi (currently playing Yukinojo in Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge / Perfect Girl Evolution) as well as Hollywood actors — Anton Yelchin (Star Trek) and Emma Roberts (Aquamarine, Valentines’ Day).
According to an article at Tokyograph, approximately forty percent of Horikita’s dialogue will be in English.
Filming started late 2008, the movie is set to be released by Toei Productions on March 27, 2010. Credits: Nippon Cinema + Asia Media Wiki SOURCE: blossomPOP
