2008 saw the departure of many Korean male celebrities as they leave their career behind for their mandatory 2 years of national service. The two years have since gone by in a flash and 2010 will usher in their return from the army.
In the earlier half of 2010, Yang Dong Geun will return on March 25th while former Sech Kies member, Kim Jae Duc will be out on April 21st.
Ballad singers, Sung Shi Kyung and Eru will be out in May while others scheduled to be out before June also include actors Jae Hee and Jo Hyun Jae.
In the latter part of 2010, Lee Jung will return in August while former H.O.T. member Tony An will end his service on September 25th. Shinhwa members, Eric and Kim Dong Wan will be discharged on October 30th and 7th December respectively.
Many in the entertainment industry are looking forward to their return, with one production executive expressing, “These male celebrities will have matured greatly after serving the nation and they would bring an element of surprise to viewers in their future work. It’s unusual to see so many male stars returning all at once so there should be a lot of surprises in store this year.”
