Review: BEAST rocks Malaysia with showcase

Local Kpop fans were pleasantly “shocked” on June 26 when BEAST rolled into Malaysia for an exclusive showcase in conjunction with the promotion of their Shock of the New Era Asian Version album.

BEAST, stylized as B2ST, performed to a full house at KL Live and boy, they sure brought the house down with their spectacular performance.

Fans were already in line for the showcase as early as 6am but the crowd was only let into the venue at about 8.15pm. Before the party started, an announcement was made cautioning the fans not to push as 35 people had already fainted.

At 8.50pm the six B2ST members took the stage in white suits, all looking very dashing and charismatic. They performed their BEAST is the Best intro before launching into their debut hit Bad Girl. The crowd went wild.

IT'S SHOWTIME: B2ST takes the stage

Next, the B2ST members were introduced in a mini interview. When asked what they thought about Malaysian fans, their one short answer – “So beautiful” – elicited deafening screams.

After that, the boys performed Mystery, complete with the ultra-cool head move before slowing things down a little with the ballad Easy.

While the boys went backstage for a costume change, three fans were invited onstage for a dance / sing off. The super excited fans were asked to dance and sing to B2ST’s smash hit Shock, and the audience was asked to select the best performer. The winner got to remain onstage for a photo session with the idol group!

The boys soon appeared onstage in red suits and happily took pictures with the ecstatic fan girl.

After performing Special, a lucky draw followed where another fan was invited onstage to be serenaded by the boys. Miss Siti’s number was called and she floated on cloud nine to the stage where B2ST devoted their attention to her while singing Oasis.

B2ST then performed their smash hit Shock. Fans sang along to the song and the energy hit the roof. For encores, the boys performed a medley of Bad Girl and Mystery. Gi Kwang provided some fan service (bared his abs) as this point. The girls went wild.

All too soon, the boys bid farewell to the crowd. Before disappearing backstage, Dong Woon said: “I love Malaysia!” and upon hearing the fans’ excitement, Doo Joon popped out from backstage and added, “Me too!”. The crowd went berserk.

After the showcase, the organizers announced that there is a one-hour autograph session for those who had bought B2ST’s Repackaged album. Below are pictures of the boys after the show :).

![NEWS] BEAST to go on a ‘1 Night 2 Day’ vacation!

Idol group BEAST is off to a 1 night 2 days trip with their fans.

BEAST is going to have a special time at a resort in Kyoungbook on May 29th and May 30th for the event ‘1 Night & 2 Day with BEAST.’

Focusing on fan service, this event was planned beyond the average scale and planned for a long time. The way to win for this event was special also.

In the BEAST 2nd mini album, there were polaroid pictures the members took of themselves as they called it the ‘Card of Luck’ to attend the 1 Night 2 Daytrip.

Many fans with different cases, whether they’re fans in Korea or international fans whom bought the album overseas, join together to spend a meaningful time with BEAST in one place.

BEAST said, “This is our first time going on a trip with our fans, so we’re really nervous. It’s disappointing that not all of our fans are able to go with us but we hope to make good memories with them.”

Meanwhile, BEAST recently succeeded in closing their promotions for their 2nd album as they’re on variety programs and preparing for their overseas promotion.

![NEWS] ‘Boyfriend-idol’ BEAST's Yoon Doojoon's shocking confession, “after fooling the manager we....”

Leader Yoon Doojoon from the ‘boyfriend-idol’ group BEAST made a surprising confession on a radio broadcast.

Doojoon, who currently appears as a guest on KBS Radio ‘Narsha’s Raise the Volume’, was asked if he had ever lied to his manager by DJ Narsha. To this OX question, he first stated, “This might be a bit moderate to say that I fooled him…” and then he added confessing to the truth, “Once we told the manager hyung that we were going to the convenience store, when we actually came back from secretly playing games.”

It is said that the manager who had been watching him outside the studio stated, “I thought it was really strange when they all came back an hour later when they told me they were just going to the convenience store,” causing laughter in the recording.

Jung Dongha from Boohwal also confessed as well after Doojoon. Jung Dongha stated, “I was about 10 minutes late to the hair salon, but then I acted like I wasn’t,” and the added, “But then again the other Boohwal members are always late by 30 minutes so I was quietly ignored,” causing laughter in the studio. The other guest, Secret’s Song Jieun said, “When our manager asks me ‘why is your face bloated, did you eat something?’ I say that it is because I’m sick, when the truth is that I actually ate something at night.”The sunbae, DJ Narsha, said that she had a similar experience when her manager asked her “Did you drink yesterday?” when he saw that she face was bloated, and she just ended up ignoring him in the end.

Beast's good-looking leader Yoon Doojoon. Like his outstanding looks, he's accepted by the viewers for his talents in both the music industry and many variety programs, but is the habit he wants to put away his sleeping habits?

Beast's vocalist Jang Hyunseung. More than anyone else, he loves and cares for his younger sister as he's known to be a heartwarming member. Lee Kikwang

![NEWS] Celebrity Popularity Study for the 1st Half of 2010

According to a statement by media marketing research consulting company Lee’s PR & Research on the 27th, “We conducted an investigation into the most popular celebrities of the first part of 2010. 2PM and SNSD received 19.8% and 37.5% in the polls, respectively, making them the top popular male and female singers.”
Last year, 2PM received 21.7% of the vote and took 2nd place, but this year they raised their name to 1st place. Big Bang, who received 23.5% of the vote last year for 1st place, fell to 4th place with 12.3% of the votes. Behind 2PM were 2AM (15.1%) and Lee Seung Gi (13.0%),while rookies BEAST and CNBLUE took 7th and 9th place respectively, drawing attention.
Just wait and see for Big Bang to make their comeback this year, i guarantee that they will once again be Number 1 and dominate all charts!!

![News] BEAST to fly to the States on 28th April to take part in Hollywood Bowl Korean Music Fest

BEAST will perform in the States for the first time after their debut.

According to Cube Entertainment on 28th April, “BEAST will be flying to the States on 28th April to take part in the annual event ‘Hollywood Bowl Korean Music Festival’.”

The 8th Hollywood Bowl Music Festival will be held on 1st May in LA Hollywood Bowl. The group has been receiving lovecalls from other Asian cities like Thailand, the Philippines, Taiwan and China. And in January, they flew to Taiwan for promotions and were well received by fans there.

Meanwhile, the group is preparing for their followup hit after their latest song ‘Shock’ did well winning them their first #1 on music shows.

!BEAST visits TaeYeon!

Although BEAST is busy promoting "Shock," they took some time out of their super busy schedule to visit SNSD's crazy leader TaeYeon on her radio show "Chin Chin Radio."

MBC has released a couple pictures of TaeYeon and BEAST, in which TaeYeon seems to want to eat Yoseob!

Approving netizens commented “TaeYeon, Beast, both of them are very pretty. We hope for frequent appearances on ‘Chin Chin’."

The staff working at the radio station even approved of BEAST visiting and left comments saying “We want BEAST as our little brothers, as Oppa, and as boyfriend,” and “From now on, ‘Chin Chin’ will give BEAST love and passion that never ends.”

!Shin Min Ah and Kim Nam Gil are the top denim stars

iSTYLE24 conducted a survey from March 17th to April 1st to decide who is the “best denim star” in Korea, with actress Shin Min Ah and actor Kim Nam Gil coming in first.
For the women section, Shin Min Ah placed first with 279 (43%) votes. Placing in 2nd was actress Shin Se Kyung with 176 (27%) votes and Lee Hyori placed third with 133 (21%) votes.

In the men section, Kim Nam Gil was champion with 284 (44%) of the votes. In second was actor Jang Dong Gun with 187 (29%) votes and BEAST leader Doojoon was third with 106 (16%) of the votes.

!Unique maknae idol rules

One netizen uploaded an ordering of SNSD members according to categories such as singing abilities, skin tone, height, popularity, etc which SNSD chuckled at because it turned out to not be too accurate.
In this ordering, Seohyun was picked as the member that is a “hidden jewel.” So let’s check out all of the hidden jewels, or the maknaes, of the idol groups to get to know them a little better.
Rule #1: If the maknae is popular, everyone is popular.
Usually, the leaders of idol groups gain popularity first. The companies try to get the leaders’ faces known. That is why when the maknae receives recognition, you know the group is a success. H.O.T used this tactic to get their maknae Lee Jae Won known for his dancing and they became the nation’s idol group.
All the companies have also been sending the maknaes out for variety programs. SNSD’s Seohyun showed off her variety program skills for the first time on We Got Married. It was as if SM Entertainment unleashed their hidden card. The maknaes also start to get lots of CF deals after gaining popularity.
Rule #2: The maknaes lead the group.
In the beginning of the 2000’s, the leaders led the groups. I mean, isn’t that what they’re supposed to do?
However, nowadays, the maknaes lead the groups, at least in terms of popularity.
This is very true for U-Kiss’s Dongho. Dongho is just 15-years-old in American age and yet, he’s a regular on multiple variety shows. He’s making a name for himself everywhere, especially on Invincible Baseball Team.
Also, T-ara’s maknae Jiyeon has been becoming quite popular with her acting roles. Her role in God of Study has proved her acting skills and popularity. She’s also going to star in an upcoming horror movie, Death Bell 2.
Rule #3: They sacrifice for their hyungs/unnies.
They all seem to share this rule in common: they do labor for their team. When the delivery food comes, they lay out the newspaper, open the food and clean up afterwards. Even though they are celebs, this is the polite thing to do. It doesn’t really make sense to me that they have to do this since everyone should clean up for themselves, right?
In a typical dorm, the maknaes share rooms with the other members. For KARA, the three youngest members share a smaller room than the two big unnies. CNBLUE is also moving in together and the two youngest members, Kang Min Hyuk and Lee Jung Shin, will share a room. They always give up the bathroom for the hyungs when they get ready in the morning.
Chansung of 2PM is the one to always clean-up after his hyungs. He recycles and cleans up after a meal. BEAST’s maknae Dongwoon plays the role of a mood lightener. When his hyungs are down, he shows off his talent and makes them happier. Doojoon said, “He’s afraid of the camera so he still doesn’t show off his skills in front of the camera but he is almost as crazy as Jo Kwon.”
Rule #4: They take care of their skin and looks.
Since they are young, they need pure white skin. Korea makes a big deal about non-wrinkly and blemished skin so they especially expect the youngest of idol groups to have the best skin. Therefore, the maknaes spend the most time in front of a mirror.
One idol group’s manager said, “When you pick maknae members, you look at their skin and looks right after their skills. If they have a clean face, they have a better chance of joining the team.” They try to pick the ones that don’t need a makeover so that they don’t have to go through plastic surgery rumors at a young age.
Brown Eyed Girls’ Ga-In has admitted to having plastic surgery but she is known for her unique eyeliner. 2NE1’s maknae Minzy is known for looking much younger than others.
Rule #5: They join the group last.
The maknaes usually join the group last. This goes for 4minute’s Sohyun and BEAST’s Dongwoon. They were last-minute add-ins. Frequently, the maknaes are chosen after the members and the leader have been chosen. CNBLUE’s Lee Jung Shin joined after his trainee years as the last member of the group. But these maknaes have less training than the other members so it’s hard to catch up.
4minute’s company Cube Entertainment’s No Hyun Tae said, “It’s hard to compete against the members that have so much talent as a maknae. The maknaes may speak less but their thoughts matter when there is a discussion.”

!BEAST’s Doojoon interviews Amerie

On March 25th’s episode of Mnet’s PopCon, BEAST’s leader Doojoon got a chance to interview American R&B singer Amerie.
During the interview, Amerie was asked, “Have you ever listened to BEAST’s music?” to which she replied, “I like Shock.” Amerie also commented, “I am very interested in Kpop” as she revealed that she likes BoA and Lee Hyori amongst Kpop artists. Following Amerie’s confession of Kpop interest, Doojoon added, “Next time, collaborate with BEAST.”

Doojoon had a special stage for Amerie as he sang J.Holiday’s Suffocated, to which Amerie added harmony during his performance. The two exchanged an autographed copy of their albums and finished off the interview.
On that same day, Amerie performed her hit track Head’em All on M! Countdown while BEAST won their first-ever music show award.

!Everyone wants to date BEAST’s Doojoon

BEAST’s leader Yoon Doojoon was chosen as the “Boyfriend Idol,” an idol you would like to have as your boyfriend.
Though he seems tough and gives off a bad boy vibe on stage, he shows a rather caring side of himself on Sunday Sunday Night’s Danbi where he does non-stop charity and volunteer work.

Pictures of him on set show our good looking idol hanging out with the children of the town Danbi was visiting. He is holding one in his arms and you can tell he is taking really good care of them. He has his way with those little ones.
Netizens commented, “I want him as a boyfriend,” and “He seems friendly and caring.”
On top of that, he has a well-built body from dancing and playing soccer. He used to have the nickname of “Rock Thighs” but he has an even better nickname now, the “Boyfriend Idol.”

Six member male group, BEAST and their new song "SHOCK" came back with their shocking new concept. Their latest second mini-album, called "Shock Of The New Era" was released alongside their new strong performance with a beast-ly feel. "We come back as real men," all the six members agreed of the changes.
▶ Stage Life

After their debut in October Last Year, Beast has been running without a break towards their goal to be the best. By grabbing attention with "Bad Girl" and "Mystery" on their debut, they're rising one step higher with the greed to be bigger.

"In preparation for this album, we spent a lot of nights practicing... We came up with choreography, hair, clothes and everything else. We are ready to come back to the stage after this much of stress..." (Yang Yo Seob)

The youngest, Son Dong Woon, showing powerful dance moves that reflects excessive enthusiasm and also their revealing costumes, to Yong Jun hyung's thigh muscles problem that involves hospital. Also Leader Yoon Doo Joon who danced heavily caused an injury to his chin. All has been revealed.

"We try to leave behind our boyish image and shifting to manly, overflowing with power kind of image. Our choreography is supposed to show this. Don't You feel the power? (laughter)" (Lee Ki Kwang)

HyunSeung, who wish to highlight his presence among the other six members, said that he had done something special.His style secrets was build by reading many fashion magazines.

"From Make Ups until clothing styles, (I) decided them myself. I put more thought into make up than any other member did, including the bold asymmetrycal hair on the screen, but then the end vote says it doesn't work that well."

Yoon DooJoon has been famous through his impersonation of the announcer Hwang Su Gyeong on MBC 'Sebakwi' and KBS2TV 'Star Golden Bell'. He is currently a regular on MBC "Sunday Sunday Night - Danbi".

"To tell you the truth, at first the shooting of 'DanBi' was very tiring. It's very hard to fit in with the seniors, and also exhausting to work on it while doing Musical activities. But now, I really enjoy it."

A few broadcasts ago, Fin.kl Sung Yuri came as a guest star. Despite showing a strong crush on her, Yoon Doo Joon did not manage to get her contact number. He said, "Yuri Noona*'s (*T/N : Elder Sister) stylist sent a message to me 'After seeing the broadcast, we're sorry' " and DooJoon ended it with a laugh.

Lee Ki Kwang who's starring as SeHo on MBC Sitcom 'High Kick Through the Roof', now is trying to challenge
the variety world by joining MBC 'night' new corner, 'Hot Brothers' and was picked as one of the fixed MC on the first recording. "My character did not make a significant incident but I've learned a lot. His character and wits makes me feel more confident."

Early March, Beast moved to a bigger dorm. They have to wake up at dawn, the bathroom line already shortened the time to get ready.

"We can play in the living room. I hope I do not feel too comfortable playing in the house. (laughter)" (Lee Ki Kwang)

Jang Hyun Seung explains, "It's in the south east. Lighting and ventilation are excellent, and of course the funnest part is that it's overlooking the Han River."

From moving to new album, these boys still have a further goal to achieve. "We want to get number 1 but that's not significant now. We want BEAST's music to be known by our own color." (Yoon Doo Joon)

Boy groups want to be as big as the girl groups nowadays. "Girl groups are strong. But we will rise again. Of course we are happy to have activities at the same time with girl group. !BEAST picks their favorite SNSD member

The boys of BEAST (minus Ki Gwang) recently visited Super Junior’s Kiss The Radio (SuKiRa), hosted by Leeteuk and Eunhyuk.
In their visit, the boys each picked their favorite member of SNSD. BEAST’s leader Doojoon picked Hyoyeon, explaining that she is really kind. When Doojoon picked her, Eunhyuk seemed to be a bit jealous so Doojoon commented, “Am I not supposed to pick her?” to which Eunhyuk replied, “It’s ok, we can fight [for her].“

Yeoseob choose Seohyun, explaining that she’s similar to his ideal type of girl who is cute and has long straight hair.
The next three members, Dongwoon, Junhyung and Hyunseung all choose YoonA. Dongwoon explained, “At one time in the morning, I saw YoonA’s  face without makeup, and she was so beautiful.” He then looked at the camera and sent a video message to her, saying, “Hello. Are you listening? You are so beautiful.” Junhyung also explained that he once saw YoonA’s beautiful face without makeup. Junhyung was then asked, “If Dongwoon and YoonA were drowning, who would you save?” to which he answered, “YoonA of course.”

![NEWS] Gikwang feels sad about the end of 'High Kick'!

Lee Kikwang of 6-member idol group BEAST revealed his sadness regarding the end of MBC daily sitcom 'High Kick Through the Roof.'

'High Kick Through the Roof,' which Lee Kikwang acted in, will have its last episode on March 19. This marks the end of the sitcom's 6 month long run.

A couple of days ago, 8Eight released their MV of their latest track Term of Validity / Availability Period (유효기간). Like the mystery girl in BEAST’s Shock MV, netizens are curious about the identity of the boy behind the silhouette in the ending of Term of Validity.
Netizens have started questioning if the mystery boy at the end would be featured in 8Eight’s MV of their upcoming mini album, The Bridge.
Netizens are also speculating that the mystery boy is an idol member, as 8Eight has a history of idol members being featured in their MV such as Wonder Girls‘ Sohee in Without A Heart and 2AM’s Jinwoon in Goodbye My Love.
Because 8Eight’s agency is Big Hit Entertainment, who is also in charge of 2AM’s management, netizens have choose 2AM’s Jo Kwon and Seulong as the possible candidate of the mystery boy.

BEAST’s upcoming album has been leaked online.

According to Cube Entertainment on 28th February, the full title song ‘Shock’ to the group’s upcoming 2nd album ‘Shock of the new era’ has been leaked online.

The company rep said, “We heard about the news of the leakout on Youtube, we are currently doing our best to track the source of leakout. Appropriate actions will be act accordingly on the one who is found to have leaked out the song.”
