정 말 해도 너무한다. 사람마다 생각하는 바가 다르고, 한 사물을 보는 측면이 다르니 나와 의견이 다르다는 점은 충분히 이해한다. 그러나 '이건 정말 해도해도 너무 한다'라는 말 밖에 나오지 않을 정도로 너무나도 심하고 가혹하다. 지난 18일 인천 국제 공항을 통해 한국에 입국한 박재범의 입국 논란 말이다. 2PM 전 리더이자 멤버였던 박재범은 지난 2009년 9월 가족이 거주하고 있는 미국 시애틀로 떠난 지 9개월 만에 자신이 출연하는 한미 합작영화 하이프네이션 촬영 때문에 한국에 입국했다. 이와 관련된 소식은 박재범의 미국 출국 사진이 네티즌들 사이에서 퍼지면서 급속도로 퍼져 나갔고, 현장에는 1000명이 몰렸다.


이는 무려 1000명이라는 숫자가 보여주듯이 아직도 박재범을 지지하는 한국 팬들이 많다는 것을 의미한다. 최소한 현장만큼은 말이다. 그러나 오프라인, 즉 현장에서 온라인으로 넘어오면 상황은 180도 달라진다. 그 어떤 스타보다 더 많은 팬들이 몰리고 그 어느 톱스타들보다 많은 기자들이 현장에 취재를 나갔지만, 인터넷 상에서는 박재범은 소위 말하는 '국민적 원수'로 취급되고 있다. 마치 대한민국의 브랜드 가치나 국익에 큰 손해를 입혔거나, 사람들을 연쇄적으로 살인한 살인범이나 취급 받는 '국민적 원수' 말이다.

이와 같이 박재범이 인터넷에서 '국민적 원수' 취급을 받고 있는 이유는 이러하다. '한국이 싫다고 비하하는 듯한 글을 써놓고는 대중들의 반감이 심해지자 아무런 해명 없이 미국으로 떠나더니 월드컵 특수와 타블로의 학위 조작 논란 등으로 시끄러운 상황에서 한국에 들어와 자신을 향한 비난 여론을 무마 시키려는 꼼수에 불과하다'라는 것이다. 이가 틀린 말은 아니다. 현재까지 2PM의 전 리더이자 멤버였던 박재범은 국내 비난 팬들이 납득할만한 해명을 하지 않았으며, 18일 입국한 바가 충분히 자신에 대한 비난 여론 무마를 위해 날짜를 이렇게 잡았다고 하는 것을, 엄밀히 말하자면 꼭 틀린 주장은 아니라고 할 수 있다.

그러나 이를 제 3자의 입장에서 보면, 이와 같은 주장은 '억측'에 불과하다. 가장 먼저 관련 주장에서 언급되는 '한국이 싫다'라는 비하 글을 가지고 아직까지도 비난하는 것 자체를 나는 이해 할 수 없다. 이미 관련 기사가 난지는 약 1년이 지났다. 그런데도 아직도 네티즌들은 '한국이 싫다고 비하한지가 얼마나 지났다고?'라며 박재범의 입국에 대한 온갖 인신공격 을 안 좋은 단어란 단어는 모두 끌어다 쓰며 하고 있다. 만약 이처럼 네티즌들이 온갖 공격을 하는 이유가 박재범이 앞에서도 언급 한 것과 같이 진짜 '국민적 원수'라면 이해하겠지만, 단지 한국에 들어와 연습생 초기에 썼던 한국을 비하하는 듯한 글 하나로 지금까지 우려먹는 있다. 늘 예능프로그램에게 '신선함'을 요구하던 네티즌들은 어디를 갔는지 모르는 대목이다.

또 두 번째인, 시기상의 문제도 나는 납득 할 수 없다. 물론 한 사람에게 편견을 가지고 보면 그 사람이 하는 행동은 모두 나쁜 행동으로 보이기는 하지만, 이는 첫 번째보다 더 질 떨어지는 '억측'의 일부분이다. 이는 끼워 맞추기에 불과하다. 이미 예전부터 박재범의 입국 시기는 6월 중순으로 잡혀져 있었다. 관련 소식은 이미 예전부터 언론들을 통해 알려진 내용이었다. 즉 이미 박재범은 예전부터 한미 합작영화 하이프네이션을 촬영하기 위해 한국 방문 일정을 잡고 있었다는 소리다. 이는 박재범에게 온갖 인신공격을 퍼붓고 있는 네티즌들이 주장하고 있는 '비난 여론 무마용 입국'과는 상반되는 객관적인 자료이다.

이를 보는 입장에서 할 수 있는 말은 단 하나. '너무나도 가혹하지 않은가?'라는 말이다. 지금까지 설명 한 내용에서도 알 수 있듯이 나는 박재범의 한미 합작영화 하이프네이션 촬영차 입국을 두고 이와 같이 심각하게 비난 할 필요는 없다고 생각한다. 비난도 '한 연예인을 더 좋은 길로 이끌어 준다'라는 가치를 지닌 상태에서의 비난은 연예인 한 사람에게 정말로 좋은 약이다. 그러나 지금 현재 인터넷 상에서 행해지고 있는 박재범에 대한 논란과 온갖 인신공격, 그리고 그를 향한 무자비한 욕설은 절대 비난이라고 할 수 없다. 이는 비난이 아닌 그냥 '욕'에 불과하다. 앞뒤 맞지도 않는 논리를 가지고 지겹도록 박재범에게 온갖 공격을 가하고 있기 때문이다. 누차 말했지만, 지금과 같은 네티즌들의 엉뚱하고 화를 유발하는 행동은 대한민국을 점점 '안티 대한민국', '루머 강국 대한민국', '욕설 1위 대한민국'으로 만들고 있을 뿐이다.

Really, enough is enough. Everyone has different thoughts and opinions are bound to clash which is definitely understandable. However, the situation has gotten to such a severe point that all I have left to say is enough is enough. On the 18th, Jaebum entered Korea through Incheon Airport and immediately became swept in another controversy. As 2PM's former leader, Park Jaebum left for America last year and returned for the first time in nine months for a Hollywood film. Reports regarding his return spread across the internet and amongst netizens and over 1,000 fans showed up at the airport.

The fact that 1,000 fans showed up shows that there are still many Korean fans that support Park Jaebum. At least, at the scene of course. But when you come online, the situation takes a drastic 180 degree turn. Countless fans and journalists may have showed up at the scene for this top star but on the internet, Park Jaebum is being treated as the "nation's enemy." It's as if Park Jaebum dropped the worth of Korea or harmed some national interest. He's being treated as something worse than a murderer, quite literally as the "nation's enemy."

The reasons for such treatment is because, according to a netizen, "He wrote that he hated Korea and belittled us. After the public began showing a hostile response, he left for America without any sort of clarification. Now that the country is noisy with the world cup and Tablo's degree fabrication controversy, he returns to the country as if he can avoid the public's criticisms." The statement isn't completely wrong. As 2PM's former leader and member, Park Jaebum has yet to properly clarify anything understandable for his fans and it isn't an exaggerated opinion to state that the date of the 18th was purposely chosen amidst a time of controversy to lessen the attention.

But looking at the issue from the outside, these assertions can only be seen as wild speculations. It's hard to understand how anyone can still criticize him for 'belittling Korea' nearly a year after the first article regarding it was released. Still, netizens leave biting comments such as, "It hasn't even been that long since he said he hated Korea (and he's already coming back?)" If such assertions were true, then yes, he deserves the treatment of the "nation's enemy" but to me, it is nothing more than netizens constantly using the same attack when the words were merely written during his trainee days when he first arrived in Korea. Where have the netizens gone that always demanded 'fresh ideas' from variety programs?

The second reason is also hard to understand. Of course, when one has a certain opinion of someone, it's hard to look at them in a positive light and their every move suddenly becomes something negative. Regardless, the second reason is a considerably more disgusting type of 'wild speculation.' It's nothing more than slamming in a piece of a puzzle and hoping it fits. Park Jaebum's return was scheduled as the middle of June since a long time ago, as reported by the press. Park Jaebum had always planned to enter Korea at such and such date for Hype Nation and scheduled accordingly. This just proves that the netizens constantly pushing their opinion of Jaebum entering Korea at a controversial time to avoid criticism is wrong.

Isn't it truly too brutal? With Park Jaebum preparing to enter into Hype Nation, there is no reason for such hatred to be directed his way. Criticism is healthy if it helps lead the celebrity down a better path. But criticism is only healthy to a certain extent. What's going on in the internet right now against Park Jaebum are nothing more than personal attacks and merciless hatred. These things can never be called criticisms. These are nothing more than just 'hate.' Park Jaebum is being so cruelly attacked with logic that doesn't even make sense. Such actions by the netizens only further aids in making Korea become 'Anti Korea,' 'The nation where rumors overpower, Korea,' and 'The nation of #1 hate, Korea.'
